Mandatory "color" selection

Can the mandatory selection of a color be turned off?

Or is there a way to put in a color selection that is not visible to the consumer?

Reason: Trying to remove casket sprays from showing up when a "shop by color" choice is made.

There is a sort-of work-around for this at the moment.

Colour selection isn't actually mandatory, but there is some legacy code in place in the item editor. Products uploaded via the spreadsheet don't need to have a colour selected.

We can deal with the legacy code issue on a case by case basis for the time being. The next major update will address this issue.
