You Are Easy To Like With Facebook's Open Graph

If you have attended any of FlowerChat.com's webinars on Social Media Marketing, you are probably familiar with the concept of Facebook's Open Graph Protocol. The Open Graph is designed to help pages deliver more context by having site owners populate a variety of meta tags to describe the content on the page. Combined with the Facebook "Like" button on your page, you now have a powerful tool for spreading awareness of the popular items and pages on your site. Whenever a visitor clicks on the "Like" button your specific page will be shared with all of their Facebook friends. It's like Word of Mouth on steroids!

Not surprisingly, I hope, Florist 2.0 Version 3 sites support Facebook's Open Graph Protocol right out of the box, making you a very easy florist to like!

HTML5 Support

Normally the arrival of a new programming language would not be a big deal. However, with the brewing war between Apple and Adobe over Apple's decision to not support Flash on the iPhone and iPad, HTML5 has received a lot of attention. Google, too, has been waving the HTML5 flag for over a year because of the enhanced features and better semantic structuring.

Strider is committed to adopting HTML5 effective immediately. We are converting our existing template designs to HTML5, and will also be converting existing custom sites to HTML5 as we upgrade.

What does this mean to you? Why the push to quickly adopt HTML5? Modern browsers already offer various components of HTML5 (Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari), and the upcoming Internet Explorer 9 promises HTML5 support. Beyond this, HTML5 will help your site display better on the millions of smartphones, iPhones and iPad devices sold each year. Mobile ecommerce is set to be the biggest driver of online sales growth over the next few years and we want to make sure you're not left out.
