{"id":2952,"date":"2018-11-16T15:27:45","date_gmt":"2018-11-16T20:27:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/?p=2952"},"modified":"2018-11-16T15:27:45","modified_gmt":"2018-11-16T20:27:45","slug":"store-tours-build-loyalty-excitement-for-nyc-florist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/florists\/store-tours-build-loyalty-excitement-for-nyc-florist","title":{"rendered":"Store Tours Build Loyalty, Excitement for NYC Florist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s easy to take for granted the beauty and interest of a flower shop\u2019s operations when you experience it every day.<\/p>\n<p>For outsiders, your design room and cooler can seem pretty magical.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Screen-Shot-2018-11-16-at-3.16.35-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2953 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Screen-Shot-2018-11-16-at-3.16.35-PM-300x162.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"162\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Screen-Shot-2018-11-16-at-3.16.35-PM-300x162.png 300w, https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Screen-Shot-2018-11-16-at-3.16.35-PM-600x324.png 600w, https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Screen-Shot-2018-11-16-at-3.16.35-PM.png 1016w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>About a month ago, Nic Faitos started hosting private tours of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.starflor.com\/\">Starbright Floral Design<\/a>, a tactic he says is a great way to impress and engage potential customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gets people excited about our surroundings, what we do, and how we do it,\u201d Faitos said.<\/p>\n<p>For his first tour, Faitos entertained a handful of Australians in New York City for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imexamerica.com\/\">IMEX<\/a>, a trade show for travel agents and tour operators.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy client owns a tour company and was putting on a three-day tour to show off what he can get do,\u201d Faitos. &#8220;Basically, it was a look at the New York City most people never see.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Among the group&#8217;s stops: an exclusive restaurant,\u00a0private areas of Carnegie Hall, a vault at the New York Stock Exchange, and Starbright Floral Design.<\/p>\n<p>Faitos walked visitors around the shop, giving them a quick rundown of how it functions. Then he paired each of them up with one of his designers to make an arrangement. Instead of taking their creations back to their hotel, the Australians opted to donate them to a charity. Faitos recommended the Ronald McDonald House, an organization near and dear to his heart.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey wrote nice notes to accompany the flowers,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was an all-around wonderful experience that made so many people happy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, it was a great PR opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tour will build loyalty on two levels,\u201d he said. \u201cFirst, these people are going to go back to Australia with a newfound appreciation for flowers. I might not see them again, but the floral industry will benefit from their new enthusiasm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecond, my client is grateful that I provided this level of service for his clients,\u201d Faitos said. \u201cHe\u2019s not going to shop around and will probably give me even more referrals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks later, Faitos repeated the experience with about 40 Yelp All-Stars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a ton of fun,\u201d he said. \u201cThe event was scheduled from 5 to 8, but a lot of people hung around until 9 just getting to know us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tours, Faitos said, help his staff mingle with prospective customers in casual atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe made a lot of new friends, friends who are very passionate about local businesses and sharing their opinions,\u201d he said. \u201cI suspect we\u2019ll be doing a lot more of these in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s easy to take for granted the beauty and interest of a flower shop\u2019s operations when you experience it every day.
