A search for &#8220;sympathy flowers&#8221; should lead the customer to your sympathy or funeral arrangement catalogue, not the home page.<\/p>\n<p>Understanding the performance of different pages on your site is key to making sure you are capitalizing on all the traffic that is coming in to your site. After all, there is no point in investing time and resources in pursuing traffic growth through SEO, Social Media and other marketing channels if the website is turning people away!<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Viewing and Understanding the Landing Page Report<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-607\" alt=\"Landing-Pages---Google-Analytics---Google-Chrome\" src=\"http:\/\/www.floristseo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Landing-Pages-Google-Analytics-Google-Chrome.png\" width=\"255\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Landing-Pages-Google-Analytics-Google-Chrome.png 255w, https:\/\/www.florist20.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Landing-Pages-Google-Analytics-Google-Chrome-225x300.png 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 255px) 100vw, 255px\" \/>To find the landing page report within Google Analytics, click the &#8216;Content&#8217; tab on the left-hand side and select the option for &#8216;Landing pages.&#8217;<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This displays the data collected on pages that have served as landing pages.<\/p>\n<p>Here, we can see which pages have served as landing pages, the percentage of new visitors to the site (% New Visits), how long they tend to stay (Avg. The highlighted figures are concerning, until we see that the page in question is the Location and Business Hours page.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Tuning Up Our Landing Pages<\/h2>\n<p>To figure out the most successful drivers of traffic to our site, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seomoz.org\/blog\/seven-google-analytics-advance-segments\">we can set up some additional segments to compare traffic sources<\/a>.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>These allow us to view the sources of site visitors and filter them according to several categories.<\/p>\n<p>We can, for example, show only the visitors that arrive from social media platforms.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>With this information, we can see which landing pages perform the best with social media visitors, and tweak our not-so-good pages to make them more like the successful pages.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This can be done by adding or removing keywords, adjusting layout and design, or revamping content.<\/p>\n<p>If we were to <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.kissmetrics.com\/critical-goal-types\/\">set up Google Analytics Goals (an easy process)<\/a> we could set up one or more Goal Sets.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>These allow us to evaluate our landing pages based on the number of conversions they produce.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This lets us see which landing pages visitors are most likely to buy flowers from, and which pages are poor converters.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Again, we can use this information to make our less-successful pages more appealing.<\/p>\n<p>Google Analytics is a powerful analytics tool, but only when used properly.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The time and effort it takes to get to know this program pays off in the enhancements that it brings to our websites.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about understanding and adjusting landing pages with Google Analytics, see <a href=\"http:\/\/support.google.com\/analytics\/answer\/2531575?hl=en\">the official Google page for landing page improvement<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/wiredimpact.com\/blog\/landing-pages-report-google-analytics\/\">this blog by Wired Impact<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Google Analytics is a free, massively popular analytics program for tracking a number of website performance features.\u00a0 While &#8216;landing page&#8217;
