Clay, I guess you hear, what you want to hear, but nowhere did the bill, or Obama promise that employee based or private insurance would not go up. The bill is about providing health care insurance to more people thereby reducing uncompensated care which will bring down health care costs, eliminating pre-existing conditions, eliminating the donut hole in part D, providing benefits to children to the age of 26? which means they will be able to stay on the family plan until that age, and more.
Competition through the public option might have brought down the actual cost to the privately and employer insured , but we don't have that one do we?
For the ten years after I took early retirement, I and people like me bore the full brunt of the cost of the insurance when I turned 64 my BC & BS went up 50 dollars a month. I not complaining, it is what it is.
