Abc Nightline Segment On Online Flower Industry

ABC Nightline aired a great segment last night, comparing the flowers ordered from a local florist vs. those processed through three wire services/order gatherers (FTD, Teleflora, FromYouFlowers). It communicated the difference in quality - and loss of profit for florists - in ordering through wire services.

A good piece to educate consumers about the realities of the online flower industry.

It's good that the media is finally giving this some attention. Too bad it is in the slowest flower sales month of the year. That being said, I don't think it looks too good on us. What I saw was a florist who basically said that they give people less for the same money if they order online.

I wonder if they originally ordered the $49.99 discounted to $29.99, but realized they couldn't run that story in a 3 minute quip segment.
