Convince More Clients by Sharing Your Successes

When you are about to make a significant purchase, what is the first thing you usually do? Head to the Internet! Most folks do some web surfing to learn what the best prices are, who offers the best service or learn more about other customers' opinions on whatever it is they are buying.

It's for these very reasons that the reviews of products on Amazon and Yelp are so popular. People want to know what others think, even if they don't know the person offering the opinion.

You undoubtedly have lots of happy, satisfied customers who could positively influence clients who are on the fence about buying flowers from you. In fact, you might already offer a testimonial or two on your website with gushing kudos about your flowers or designs.

But have you ever thought of asking one of those satisfied customers if they would be willing to share more details of their story than a simple quote or two? Written marketing efforts about your customers’ positive experiences are referred to as case studies or success stories—and these marketing tools are not reserved just for big businesses. Even small businesses can benefit from the power these stories generate.

For example, say you have a bride who had a significant challenge with her wedding requests. Her venue was exceptionally large and required quite tall reception-table arrangements. But she had a budget that didn’t match what she longed for. Yet you managed to create designs that blew her socks off and worked within her monetary limitations.

Or perhaps you were charged with creating designs for a special event—and the day the flowers were to arrive, the wholesalers’ coolers broke down and the blossoms were completely blown when you received them. You, nevertheless, were able to devise a solution that saved the day and ended up with nothing but rave reviews from the client.

Or maybe a customer requested a special design for a funeral—one you had never previously tackled—such as a blanket of roses that needed to last several days from visitation to the funeral. And family members wept tears of appreciation when they saw what you created for their loved one’s ceremony.

Developing these types of stories can benefit your shop in a multitude of ways. You can use them on your blog or website and incorporate keywords to help with search-engine optimization (SEO) efforts. You can put them into a brochure or a PowerPoint or SlideShare presentation. You can create a flier that you or your staff can refer to during consultations.

Whatever way you use them, they can help build credibility and trust in your designs, services and abilities.
