Researchers have used eye-tracking heat maps to see in what direction a user's eyes travel across the image on a computer screen.

Their results prove that people's eyes track a website on a computer screen in a "vaguely triangular (or F-shaped) pattern." Their eyes move from the top-left section of the screen to the bottom right, much like reading a book. People skip to main headings and paragraph endings and skip over big blocks of text.

Surprised? Probably not. After all, seems like common sense, doesn't?

So, that being the case, why don’t more web designers consider this factor when they are designing a website?
