Hello to everyone! My name is Amber and I'm 26 years old. I am married with two beautiful little boys. I just moved to the Colorado Springs area from Virginia about a year ago and I have been doing floral design for about 2.5 years. I am currently working at Colorado SPrings Florist and I love my job. I one day plan on owning my own florist, but I have a lot to learn before that will even be an option. Most of the places that i have worked do more traditional types of arrangements, but my style is more unique and cutting edge. My shop allows me creative freedom, but the clientelle at my shop isn't really into that sort of thing for the most part. I would love to work at a florist that specializes in that sort of thing so I could learn more about that type of design. I love to learn new things and am constantly online looking for new techniques to try out and new arrangements to put my own "AMberesque twist" on. I hope that I am chosen to be voted into membership here because I think that I could learn a lot from people in here. Thanks very much!
Happy Designing

Welcome, may I suggest that you inquire as to whether your employer would provide "design school" assistance? Are they involved with a State Association? Can you attend seminars and shows? These would all provide more education on "upscale" or inventive ideas for you to work with? There is a thread here regarding design and bringing such ideas to your clientele.
Look around at the design threads and visit the photo gallery for pictures of some of the great designs posted there.

Thank you

I already had plans on getting involved with a Design School in the next year or so. I would LOVE to attend seminars and shows. I had gotten hired at a shop when I first moved here that wanted me to go to shows with them to learn new things to try and things like that, but I had to go back to VA for a month as soon as I got here. It was unexpected and they were willing to hold the job, but I didn't expect to be gone for longer than a couple of weeks. When I returned they had already filled the position. I think that would have been an excellent opportunity for me. The only problem about attending shows and seminars is that the majority of them are in Denver and it's kinda hard for me to get all the way out there. Thank you for the suggestions and I'm going to look into some of the things that you said.
