My one bride wanted a large silk cascade for her bouquet. The bouquet holder she chose was a plastic silver ornate one with the small oasis insert. We changed it to a larger styrofoam insert. Of course the plastic cage did not fit over this styrofoam.
My husband drilled two holes about a 1/2 " down from the top of the bouquet cup and slipped a thin cable tie (14" length) across the top of the styrofoam and it was nice and SNUG and did not cut into the styrofoam.
I also glued the styrofoam in the bouquet holder for more security with Aileens tacky glue, and we cut the excess cable tie.
I did bouquet the flowers (with the exception of the hydrangeas) so I only had to insert One Stem into the styrofoam and I also glued them in.
It aint' going nowhere!
I do not favor Silk flowers, but this bouquet is beautiful. The bride is coming today, for us to incorporate an antique cameo pin.
Her wedding isn't until the end of Sept. and I'm so happy this piece is done!
