  • The best flower shop in that area is Gilmore's Florist (800) 756-5564 TF Code 56-437200.
    Hi, Carol,
I really appreciate your input. I would like you to know that I was not trying to bad-mouth any company, nor was I prepared for the amount of response from my post. I am frustrated with my situation-of course-but this has not disabled me as a designer. If this thing is the end of me designing in Columbus, I will move onto another area. I would be a fool not to have already contacted everyone I know to let them know I am available. I simply would like to stay in this area because of family... Many factors are keeing me here, not just flowers.
Now that's an idea and a half! I don't even play (I think I visited once). I've given some away to those who don't beg. ;) A large chunk was given on Mark's birthday.

Carol, after thinking we weren't going to be able to go to market, we made it anyway but it was so quick I didn't have a chance to contact you. I would still like to try to coordinate at some point. Thanks for all your help and advise.

Hi carol just visited Shannons page and read you were ill I hope you feel better soon!
Hi Carol, MFT here...My name is Christopher Grigas, I'm a was a Plant science/Horticulture Grad of SUNY Cobleskill in upstate NY. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Orn Hort major in plant science with minor in Floral Design in Dec '96. After graduation, I moved to Atlanta to work for Pike Nurseries as Mngmt Trainee, but it didn't pan out. I shifted gears and started to work at a flower shop called Atlanta Wildflowers, after a year I shifted again to work for the Atl Botanical Gardens.
In the fall of 2000 I decided to move back to the northeast and again persue a career in nursery mngmt in the Boston area. After a horrible start ( the owner was killed in a vehicle accident the day I started) I quit after just 3 months. I missed my family. I got a job as a manager at a little country flowershop, but with no experience, they had no idea what to do with the shop. Since I did, I became a threat...so they fired me! I then worked at another upscale shop in the area for 6 months and then decided to open my own shop. In the process of opening our shop in 2002, I worked for a nice family owned nursery and gift shop.
We opened My Favorite things in Sept of 2002. That.s where the real story begins!

If your'e still interested, Ill continue. I know I can be long winded. If you like you can check out my myspace page myspace.com/mftdesignstudio. or my profile on UBLOOM Christopher Grigas MFT.
Hope I dont bore you. hahaha.

    Carol,
I like the comments, teaching seems like a natural for you. Not many look at floral design the way that you do.
