Florist Marketing Tip of the Week:
Create EASY Graphics for Your Blog!

Florists are luckier than most folks who have blogs because floral topics tend to be so visually appealing. Depending on your topic, you can take photos of designs, flowers in your cooler, your driver making a delivery, your staff at work, a bride holding your elegant creation, gorgeous table decor, etc., and instantly have an image that will help easily illustrate the topic of whatever you are writing.

Occasionally, however, even a florist delves into a topic that is not easily illustrated with a photo. But don't give up and publish your article without a graphic. They are important not only for search-engine-optimization purposes (the alt tags in photos can be extremely useful in generating search-engine activity), but they also help to grab the readers' attention and entice them to read your content.

What do you do then? If you want something original and don't want to dig through millions of creative-commons-licensed images that may (or may not) be appropriate, and you don't want to pay for a stock image, then the solution is to create your own.

Don't worry. It's WAY easier than it sounds.

Check out a site called Tagxedo.com. It lets you create word clouds in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors and fonts--all for free.

You simply provide the URL of your site/blog. Then Tagxedo does all the work for you. And if you don't like what it creates, you hit one of its "spin" buttons, and it will create a new version. Just scroll through the options until you find one you like.

Very cool, attractive and topic-specific graphics!
