Just a 'heads up' -

I looks like doorway pages (city specific landing pages) are on the rise in Google, especially in small towns.

Phil has a student who will is acquiring a shop in Chowchilla CA so I took a look at the Google SERPs for her. (The store has been closed since July due to the current owner's illness and there's no website.)

The top 3 organic results for a local Chowchilla query are all OGs and I noticed FromYouFlowers.com on that page yesterday, but they dropped off today.

The next 7 results are Yellow Pages type sites or second tier florist directories.

Once she gets a site going, she should be able to outrank any OG pretty easily, but it occured to me that many consumers don't realize the myriad choices will all basically end up with the very few shops (1-2) delivering to Chowchilla.

This new owner does not plan on being in a WS.

If you are in a WS here's the bottom line: Keep an eye on G SERPs and know who you're filling for.
