Link to explanation and application page.

Not much detail for merchants... my guess is there's a fee based on volume.

The good news is that business addresses are disclosed to consumers so it will likely harm the dOGs. And let's face it, the big ones don't have stellar reputations anyway.

Participating sites will get a badge which will include a rating - looks very similar to a BBB rating.

It's only being tested in a pilot program right now but they're accepting applications for future opportunities.

As reported by Barry Schwartz, a recent Webmaster World discussion reported seeing a trusted site listing in an Adwords ad for a local business in Canada so you Cannucks may get an opportunity quicker than us US folks.

Local. That's good. :)

So this will be VERY interesting to see if any og's get a badge.

[h=2]Performance Standards of Google Trusted Stores[/h]
Google Trusted Stores have proven track records of reliable shipping and great customer service. Google evaluates and monitors participating merchants on order delivery and issue resolution, to ensure a high quality online shopping experience.
Merchants are measured on the following shipping and service metrics:
Shipping

  • High percentage of orders with on-time shipping. Participating merchants must ship the order within the timeframe specified at purchase.

Our local YELLOW BOOK has a "verified" option for the consumer to be "sure "
However you get "Verified" by PAYing their price--so much for "verification!"
