User satisfaction with e-commerce sites rises slightly

For example, in the e-retail category Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com are now tied for the top spot. Both had a score of 87, 10 points better than 1-800-Flowers.com, which came in last in the survey, Freed said.

Today’s online stores have evolved significantly, offering advances such as 360-degree views of products, customer reviews, side-by-side product comparisons and extensive product information and specifications that often exceed what is available in a store or catalogue.”
No reason was given for 1-800-Flowers last place finish but the article mentions how content improvements boosted some of the top-rated sites.

How could a local florist improve content? Informational articles - care and handling, wedding tips, sympathy customs - customized ordering options (instead of just point-click-order cookie cutter designs), a blog... and much more.

More food for thought.
