Oh my, back then I was on dialup and hosting a chat room at America Online!! Got free AOL but no local numbers in the boonies, so I had to pay for my dial up line. Doing Genealogy research back then was a hoot. And I remember when I could finally access the Records Centre in Kew England direct to do searches to find vital records on my family (at $1.75/minute)

Yahoo used to be a subdirectory at standford.edu, i.e., standford.edu/yahoo. Jerry Yang was a grad student back then. All text links, nothing fancy.
