Some florists have embraced Pinterest.com as an opportunity to let the world see their creative designs, while others dislike the fact that their images are being used on another site without their permission. Either way, you probably would like to know whether your images have been added to users' boards on the site (and, more interestingly, which ones--a clue as to what designs are most popular).

To easily discover everything that others have "pinned" to their Pinterest boards from your site (or even a competitor's site--another way to compare what's popular among customers who might compare the two), follow these steps:

Simply type into your browser: Pinterest.com/source/yourwebsitename.com.

Replace yourwebsitename.com with the domain name you’re checking. You’ll instantly see all pins generated from that site.

We did a check to see how many images had been pinned from the FlowerChat.com website. At present, 40 images had been pinned from the gallery. (Note: Of those images, only six had watermarks on them. If you want to ensure that you get credit for your designs when they pinned on someone's board, make sure you add the embedded text of a watermark across the image in some way. Not sure how? Check out this past issue of the FlowerChat newsletter for tips.)

Are you a fan or foe of Pinterest? Share your thoughts in a note to [email protected]. If we get enough response, we'll share your comments in an upcoming newsletter touting the pros and cons of using the site.
