Google has been testing and is now rolling out big changes in the way they display search results with local intent - as well as the way your business will be displayed in a 1-box.

Mike Blumenthal has a series of screen shots for the different types of results. Be sure to have a look.

In 1-boxes, they're basically condensing a whole lot of info from your Place Page - and multiple pics will be displayed - so be sure your photos put your best foot forward.

IN 7-packs and blended results, when a surfer mouses over your listing, a box will pop up on the right and it will contain a map point, photos and perhaps a screen shot of your home page.

I'm not seeing these results yet, but they're being widely reported throughout the US and Canada.

Have you seen them? Do you like them for your business and/or for gaining more info about other businesses?

Mine (our town) showed up earlier this week. I use to be first in generic listing (don't know why) then the A - E stores. Now with the new format it pushes me to the bottom of the stores after all are listed, but still at the top of the gatherers.........I have no hair from scratching my head when it comes to "google"................

Well.... placement in G results is always a moving target. Just keep updating your pages since freshness is now a major factor.

More news about the SERPs changes: Google Raises Local Search Stakes with New Places SERP Greg Sterling of Search Engine Land says the 'street-view' tours shot through Google Photos for Business also display in 1-Boxes. (We have one so I'll be interested to see how it shows.)

The 3 Ads at the top have the preview pages turned on but it looks like anyone under does not yet. Must be a work in process for our area. It says, "Preview not available". I do like how the ads on the side go away when they do that. I am going to have to do some more searches and see what turns up. Thanks!

Mine still has the mouse-over that pops the front page of each site.

Bootcamp.... when I look at your city, I see you as "E" but the one box does not show...

How long should it be before your places page shows up for a search of flowers or flower shops for your city? Mine hasn't shown up. How do you even contact anyone about this?

Your shop shows up with two claimed listings in Places, but there's no info on the pages other than the basics - Name, address, phone number and business hours.

You need to choose ONE of the listings and then take advantage of all the opportunities to build out content -
- a link to your shop website (will really help your listing!)
- photos of your design work and your business
- videos
- then try to encourage folks to review your company

Just make sure only 1 of the listings is 'live' or the reviews could be split up between them, and then some of them lost when the duplicate is deleted.

Thanks for the looks. The original site is 15 years old and the other is about 5 years. When I look at the others, Bing, MSN, etc. the www.flowersormondbeach show up better. I didn't know under black hat that they would show up as seperate, Is that better? As far as I know, just one listing. No Flowers by Rick or anything like that. Proflowers used to have one with my name in it, I threatened lawsuit and they took it down.
