  • I hired a designer a year ago due to her experience in flower shops. As it turns out she is not a great designer and her attention to detail is spotty. This weekend she took a funeral order from a very good customer and wrote down the wrong details on the order which I filled today. The customer called from the wake upset she asked for an all white casket spray not pastels. How would you handle this with her?

I would have her under supervision until she improves or you need to let her go. I have one like that now, I or my wife have to initial all that she does, we inspect each piece and point out what we need. That's my you are the owner and she is an employee. Show, tell, do all day everyday. Very childish, but it's our reputation at stake.
