Well we have spent some time at our childrenç—´ school trying to figure out ways to promote flowers within the school. We have a couple chances to participate with flowers starting with the schools annual fund raising event and donated all flower arrangements balloons and orchid leis and even spent some time with the students and parents teaching them how to make Orchid Leis.
During the week of Thanksgiving we spent the day with Kindergarten and First Grade students providing them with the flowers and containers to create their very own Thanksgiving Centerpieces.
This time we were presented with a unique opportunity. On Friday last week we received the announcements for the schools international night where the upper grade kids set up food booths around the school and offered food from around the world. The night would also spotlight singing as well as their science fair and art fair. But this year they decided to add a new twist to their international night. They announced that their where holding a flower design competition where students from all grade levels could participate by creating their own unique flower arrangement.
Of course this caught my attention and on Monday I decided to ask what materials would the kids be using to create their flower arrangements. After sitting down with the Art teacher I decided to announce to the school that we would provide all of the flowers and containers for the kids to create their own arrangements at the school.
We had no idea what to expect but the result was incredible.
Take a look for yourself.
