How do you charge for your lettering? By the letter, flat fee,by the word? We charge $7 per banner to say what you want within reason. Im thinking about by the word instead. Due to cost of lettering going up, and people wanting too much on one banner. All input welcome, Thanks

We use the elite banner printer. It's a lot cheaper and produces way better banners than the hand letters.

I also have the Elite Printer. Bought it when it was on Sale.
Charge $5.00 per banner for funeral.

Lots of color choice and variety of banner and takes less then 1 minute to do.
No more gluing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also do any type of Banners. For openings, birthdays anniversary. I made a banner that advertise banners.

THose banners goes from $5.00 to $10 or even higher.

Cost to do a elite banner Less then .50 cents. Great Markup evenif you screw one up, takes a second to print a second corrected version.

We print too. $7.95 per banner up to 25 characters. After that $.20 per character. You will be so thrilled with the results. Suggest it as an add on to EVERY funeral sale. If your POS has a pop up feature - make the product code for RIBBON SCRIPT be an "add on" linked to every product in your funeral dept. That way a window will pop up to remind the salesperson to suggest. You could also run a contest or pay per script to create further incentive to sell.

We sold 68 ribbon scripts in Feb ($540) and 48 in March ($381).

May I recommend www.easyribbons.com
Our ribbons and film work on other printers, such as Elite's.

We charge 5.00 per word also we use a Fiorella ribbon printer for
longer items like happy birthday ect. Its cheaper to use but I am trying to get rid of all the premade scripts than only use the Fiorella.

I use the colorco stick on script....5.00 a sheet of 12 words cost...

Have never charged anyone for ribbons...It is just included in the setup and always has been...Here in the Northeast especially in my area of the world almost all funeral pieces have a ribbon and noone has ever paid extra, not at any flower shop I have ever worked at...

Doesn't mean people wouldn't, just never thought about it...

We didn't charge for it for YEARS, probably 20 years. Then we got the printer and charged first $4.95 then 2 years later $7.95. No one to my knowledge has EVER noticed or thought either price was expensive. If you would be the first florist in your area to get a printer, I would try to and then actively visit your funeral homes and either offer them a commission or discount to sell the flowers in a consult or refer you. When people see your ribbons vs stick on letters they will be very impressed. I recommend adding your logo in a small size at the end of every banner.

We have templates in Word we give with our printers, and you can easily add your logo the the end of each word doc... every common banner is set up as its own word doc in #9 and #40. That way they will hopefully call you, b/c you had the most impressive funeral work and ribbons.

Have not seen any funeral work with the printed ribbons in the area...This could give me an edge...

EasyRibbon.com is the way to go.

I'll admit it . . . I am biased! After all, I own the company. But we also use this printer everyday. It's a workhorse. Our EZ-12 printer is only $675 and uses MS word or any other word processing software. There is no new software to learn.

I'm not sure about Elite, but some of our competitors have limitations to their software like a max length of 22" . . . not EasyRibbons. We are now offering free shipping. Plus, we will give you a cd of templates to make it even easier. Letters can be printed in any direction. Pictures and logos are a snap.

We will even let you try it for 60 days. If you don't like it, send it back. Although I'm sure you will love it, and it will make you money. We will not charge your credit card for 60 days. Get it now . . . pay after Mother's Day.
