I have just begin working in the floral department of the local Kroger store. I have always been interested in the floral industry, so this is very exciting to me. I am just a part-time employee right now, but hope to become full-time and perhaps own my own store some day.

Kroeger needs to send their "floral department" workers to school before attempting to design. I suggest you try school first or apprentice at a real floral shop where design and quality are the first choices.
Thank you for your interest in FlowerChat.

Hi, thanks for your interest in our community. Welcome to the floral industry! You might want to suppliment your work with some design classes and maybe check out UBloom.com.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but this forum is geared to people who are a little more experienced or educated in the industry. Since the professional florists get beat up so badly by grocery stores on prices, many will be reluctant to share their hard learned, expensive, knowledge. Sorry.

Hi and thanks for your interest in the community.

I'm not sure this is the place for you at this time. As mentioned above Flowerchat is a community for industry professionals.

I'm glad you're finding your new job exciting and I do hope it works in to a full time opportunity... and down the road your own shop. There is much to learn in between times. A good start would be business courses.

Take care and enjoy discovering the world of retail.
