Okay, I should know this but......I don't:hammer:

I went to renew my domain registration with godaddy, then had second thoughts.

First question is, should I continue with the private registration? Is it worth the extra $25? Is that common and why should I?

Okay, so that's more than one question, consider them parts A-C

Second question, is there another I should register it with instead? I have quite a few domains, but only one site, the others get directed to my live website. Should they all be registered with the same company?

Ditto, parts A and B

Thanks for your input, I have a couple months to decide.

Continue with GoDaddy, but I can't think of a reason why you need private registration.
I registered only a single domain as private, and that was because I secured the name before another group thought to get it. Long story ...

I think having a single registrar makes sense. I've consolidated all my domains to GoDaddy, but DO NOT HOST anything on SlowDaddy. They're horrible!

I have had mine registered with 123cheapdomain.com for 8 years and pay 13.00 a year.
Never heard of private registration.
I also have some other domains listed with go daddy for something like 8.99 per year, maybe even less. Why private?

Slowdaddy is exactly the reason why I switched to Strider for my web-hosting. The last straw was when I could not get my Father's Day images off my site for three months! They tried to tell me it was my computer, but I tried it on FIVE different comps. I don't ever have those issues now.

When I first bought my domains, I had just learned how to EMAIL, so I had no clue what I was doing.......often still the case.

There is speculation that Google compares the domain WHOIS to the web site's posted address. Private registration takes away this local SEO signal ... not good.

Also, $25 is too much for private registration.

www.domainsbystrider.com has domains from $9.99 and lower :)
