My web site is www.dlflowers.com and I bought my florist May 1, 1990. So, we have been serving our area for over 18 years now. I do not have any formal education as in college hours. My best learning programs have come from attending floral design seminars/programs given by FTD, Teleflora and our wholesalers. I was referred to FlowerChat by a friend. I hope to gain a valuable networking with other florists/ect. that are in the same need of finding new ways of doing business or educating ourselves in business. I am from a rural small town and we have survived for this length of time and I feel that I can give back to the community. My place of business is on a busy major highway through our town.

New member introduction

Hi....my name is Shari McCallister. I was referred to this site by a friend (siflwr). I hope to make new friends and be able to exchange ideas with fellow florist. I have owned my own florist since May 1, 1990. I am located in rural southern Missouri. I hope to learn many new things from this site. Thanks for listening.:scatter:scatter

Hi Shari! Welcome to Flowerchat. Are you the main person in your shop or do you have a staff? What do you think is your biggest challenge right now?

Looking forward to reading your posts!!

You will find a wide diversity of opinions, experience and knowledge. And we welcome all questions and comments.

The only DUMB question is the one you didn't ask!

Yes, I am the owner of my shop, sometimes I wonder about that in these days & times. (Ha Ha) The biggest challenges right now I feel are financial, our products are not a necessity item as compared to food, gas for car, heat for homes, or medicine. It is harder in a small town these days as opposed to 10 years ago of being in the floral business.
