I've been working w/ photoshop and created some ideas of what I wanted to make my website look like. What are your thoughts on these ideas?

First one, looks too much like a Teleflora template. Not too thrilled to use it.

2nd. We liked the most.

3rd. Well, something else I came up with after making the 2nd one.

I'll have more to come but this is what I got for now.

My vote is for number three, if you can tighten up the header -- it is too tall and takes up a lot of the screen. But, I really like the single featured arrangement with the smaller ones underneath. It is a little different than most florists use, so it looks different than a wire service site. What will you be using the flash ad for?

Flash would be for like an advertisement for our shop (www.myflorist.com) something like that. Also, I was thinking of using flash for the main page for the arrangements. Where they'll be scrolling and when you hover over the image with your mouse the larger picture would show up.

It's tall because the background color will probably be that color. But I am not completely sure, I might just make it white instead. I'll make some changes and show you those too.

Yes, I was thinking of making the header shorter. It looks overpowering IMO.

Though I will be using Teleflora as wire service, I will not be using them to host my website. I don't see a point of giving them money for each order when I can save that by getting a shopping cart that doesn't take commission from my sales.

I'm in a hurry, so i can't send you links ... but if you Google "web 2.0 style" you'll find lots of info on making your designs more current.

Good luck!

Agree wih Rich - if you want to use a flash movie - keep it smaller - customers came to find flowers not adverts about yourself.

I never get when I see sites that actually push their selections below the fold, yet a lot of them do.

You are right but I do want to make the home page attractive to customers and not over-fill it with too many arrangements that will confuse customers.
A good example is www.myflorist.com
I haven't seen any other shop do that but then again, I haven't been looking at too many websites yet. But I know our customers think it's pretty nice and simple.

They work for me.
