For 40 days, July 10 to Aug. 18, Sakata will match donors’ contributions to AFE dollar to dollar, up to $10,000.

To celebrate its 40th year in North America, Sakata made a commitment to support 40 organizations in the nutrition, health and environmental sectors that aim to improve life, community and culture throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America.

“AFE’s dedication to the floriculture and horticulture industries through its educational programs, grants and research made it the perfect partner for this initiative. At Sakata, our passion stems from the fact that great flower and vegetable breeding contributes to the betterment of life for humanity,” said Alecia Troy, Senior Marketing Manager at Sakata Seed America.

If you’ve noticed a dearth of millennial applicants at your business, you’re not alone. In Society of American Florists membership surveys, owners and managers from all segments of the industry have reported a dearth of millennial applicants and apprehension about who will take over when they retire. AFE and Sakata are making valiant efforts to tackle this widespread problem head on.
