Oklahoma Florist Markets Experiential Gift for Mother’s Day

Mother-daughter relationships are very important at Madeline’s Flowers in Edmond, Oklahoma. After all, the shop is run by Barbara Bilke and her daughters, Lenzee and Lacee.Screen Shot 2016-05-05 at 10.15.15 AM

For Mother’s Day 2016, the Bilkes are promoting a floral design class for mothers to do with their young daughters. For $100, participants receive flowers to create a crown and a simple hand-tied bouquet. After they complete their designs, they get their photo taken by a professional photography for a lasting memory. (If Mom would like to bring multiple children, it’s an additional $35 each.)

“We have had great success with our floral design classes,” said Lenzee Bilke. “The class we offered for Women’s Day was terrific exposure, so we wanted to do another, but with a twist for Mother’s Day. We thought this would be a fun bonding experience.”

Madeline’s Flower has marketed the class on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as has the photographer (Mandy Stansberry Photography). “We had numerous shares and page likes after posting the event,” as well as phone calls reserving a spot, said Bilke.
