Essential Marketing for Florists

Oklahoma Florist Markets Experiential Gift for Mother’s Day

Mother-daughter relationships are very important at Madeline’s Flowers in Edmond, Oklahoma. After all, the shop is run by Barbara Bilke and her daughters, Lenzee and Lacee.Screen Shot 2016-05-05 at 10.15.15 AM

For Mother’s Day 2016, the Bilkes are promoting a floral design class for mothers to do with their young daughters. For $100, participants receive flowers to create a crown and a simple hand-tied bouquet. After they complete their designs, they get their photo taken by a professional photography for a lasting memory. (If Mom would like to bring multiple children, it’s an additional $35 each.)

“We have had great success with our floral design classes,” said Lenzee Bilke. “The class we offered for Women’s Day was terrific exposure, so we wanted to do another, but with a twist for Mother’s Day. We thought this would be a fun bonding experience.”

Madeline’s Flower has marketed the class on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as has the photographer¬†(Mandy Stansberry Photography). “We had numerous shares and page likes after¬†posting the event,” as well as phone calls reserving a spot, said Bilke.
