If I need a red and white bi-color rose.......my first choice is Fire & Ice. If I need that rose tipped with a color.....then I take an empty floratape ring.....slide it up the stem and over the bloom to hold it tight, then I spray the color across the tips of the bloom....voila.....perfect tipped result every time. I have had to do this because our suppliers are not the most reliable in keeping the more unusual varieties in stock.
Another way to do this is to spray the paint onto a small sheet of cello and dip the tips in the pooled paint. It's quite subtle, though I try to persuade folks to opt for something more natural. Our most requested tip is blue, for baby boys - even if I have a beautiful bucket of delphinium right next to the carns/roses. Last week I had a customer asking for blue tipped carns, with pink carns, because they had just painted their living room blue and thought it would look pretty in the room. Oh well, whatever pays the bills! If I need a red and white bi-color rose.......my first choice is Fire & Ice. We do the cello also, and glitter tip is really popular here for prom's!I used to be more opposed to painting/tiniting, but I'm with Tracy, whatever it takes. I never have problems with design master products. And Tracy's method with the cellophane is our trick too. We do this for glittering also.
