Jean....contact John at golden rose...He's a member here too...............The one that comes to mind for me is "blush"....amazing and HUGE ...long lasting and good petal count too.....check with him....he knows his stuff and if he cannot help then he may be able to point you in the right direction :)
happy fall !

If I need a red and white bi-color rose.......my first choice is Fire & Ice. If I need that rose tipped with a color.....then I take an empty floratape ring.....slide it up the stem and over the bloom to hold it tight, then I spray the color across the tips of the bloom....voila.....perfect tipped result every time. I have had to do this because our suppliers are not the most reliable in keeping the more unusual varieties in stock.

Rick...do you find that these roses stand up to all ...and open nicely too???
I have always been way shy of ANY forms of dyes .. tints etc...Tis my "old schooling " perhaps.....
I'm interested...and yes fire& Ice ARE sumptious!
Thanks,
jeannie

Thankfully, about the only time I get a request for a tipped rose is either a wedding or prom-time and even those are getting rare. The flowers do hold up though......not so much because of the spray.....but because in that case.....after I make the design, I coat it entirely with clear crowning glory.

Floratape ring, good advice, thanks Rick!

Latin Lady is super popular here for red tipped - mostly because Fire & Ice aren't available enough anymore. I usually suggest Latin Lady if I've got a bride asking for red roses - it makes the bouquets a little less ordinary.

Another way to do this is to spray the paint onto a small sheet of cello and dip the tips in the pooled paint. It's quite subtle, though I try to persuade folks to opt for something more natural. Our most requested tip is blue, for baby boys - even if I have a beautiful bucket of delphinium right next to the carns/roses. Last week I had a customer asking for blue tipped carns, with pink carns, because they had just painted their living room blue and thought it would look pretty in the room. Oh well, whatever pays the bills!

I used to be more opposed to painting/tiniting, but I'm with Tracy, whatever it takes. I never have problems with design master products. And Tracy's method with the cellophane is our trick too. We do this for glittering also.

We do the cello also, and glitter tip is really popular here for prom's!
