Thanks for the welcome Victoria. The URL listed is actually incorrect. The correct URL is
www.givebella.com.
My background is in event design and in retail marketing. I was raised in a family of event specialists and public relations professionals so it is in my blood.
Being in event design I have had the opportunity to work with experts in lighting, culinary arts, floristry, photography and more. Some of my favorite experts have honored me with the opportunity to work with them including pastry chefs and my preferred local floral designer. The floral designer has retired and encouraged me to get into this side of the business as I currently have the clientele I'd like to serve. It is something I'm sincerely investigating as a love of floral and fauna has stayed with me since co-owning a garden center and greenhouse in PA with my former in-laws.
As to what I hope to gain here...knowledge. An insider's perspective. I'm a strong believer in fundamentals and although I am known professionally for my design, production concepts, value and service...I know you have to have a sound core group of skills in order to build off of. Because of this I am looking into a good short term school, lasting 3-4 weeks. Thus far the most appealing one is Phil Rolluda's
http://www.philrulloda.com/. Although I would prefer an east coast school I would willingly travel to California to study under someone doing the modern lush styles my clients and I favor.
I'm very open to any advice or opinions on Phil's classes or others as well. Thank you so much for the welcome and hopefully this has answered your questions and shown a sincere interest in the profession.
Sincerely, Michelle
