hey, I used to paint vases on the inside like that red one there.....

I learned to do that a long time ago...
I probablly wasn't doing it the way you do, but it triggered my memory... In fact I think I still have one I gave to my husband (boyfriend at the time)...

Yeah, i started with about a 4oz of water in the vase. Then I would spray gold paint on top of the water.
next I'd swirl the water carefully in the vase. then the paint would stick to the vase.
Then the vase would have to dry for like 24 hours.
then I'd repeat the process for a few days using different colors of paint.
On the final day, I'd spray the whole interior of the vase with black paint.

This was back in 1990 I think, I used mostly those ugly ass ivy bowls.

If I can find the one I made for hubby I post a pic tomorrow.

Does anyone else paint vases???

..yeah i am being honest and i appreciate when art recognizes art...anyone can put the same tierd arrangements i have seen with alot of florist i work with ...

Creating arrangements is another form of artistry. Any real florist/artist doesn't make "tierd" - did you mean "tired"? - arrangements. Please don't paint all florists with the same brush.

I appreciate your vase work and how passionate you are about it.

However, I've seen other artists do similar artwork as yours (I do like the wedding vase tale tho). I've even supported a gal who showed me her stuff one day. Trouble is, she also sells the same stuff on her website for less than what I need to sell it for (to make it worth my while financially - retail space=$) and I haven't sold anything I bought, save for the terra cotta pots she painted with ladybugs and bumblebees. I don't believe in the commission thing. Rentals or out-right buying at wholesale prices is the only way I can support artists, no matter if it's cards or paintings (well, if the paintings are worth A LOT I might do commission). Trouble is, like some pointsettia "wholesalers" around here, I can't compete with the retail price the grower sells for directly to the public.

Don't mean to be negative at all, but I agree with someone else who posted: if you're here to just sell your wares, I think you may in the wrong forum.

Ooooh, I hope I don't get a red dot for this!!

i don't mean to bump this up again
...and i don't want you to get a red dot...

also
"tired" yes , its and art
...its your business not mine
i get board with what i have seen at work
i made a friends wedding great
and many others
even folks who are allergic..or prefer candles to flowers...
they put them in my vases too

also i really don't do ladybugs or bumble bees
..nor do i paint flowers
i could .......yet i don't:mad:

if it did not work out for you
......i understand

im doing my thing
if you don't like it its cool
im not here to spam

and
of course i can imagine i make some of you feel uncomfortable at this point
since you really don't want me here.....to meet florist...and think id be better off somewherelse?

i paint glass vases THAT ARE WORKS OF ART for flowers
and im in a forum where there are flower people...you do the math!
so i should go somewherelse to meet florist
and introduce my ART
...so that they feel comfortable with me , because you don't?
or to dicourage others
...they have a mind of thier own
and so do i

do i sound like Follower to you?
or someone who cares to be part of a catty click?

i introduced myself...
and like i said
like it or not
...i don't care

i have been through this many times before
im not afraid of the thorns from you
....ive fried bigger fish......lolllll

if you need to save face by not having me here , then so be it..
..red dot away...ill wear them like a bindi with pride:bangles:

what are the other vendors here to do?

and
really to be quite honest,
id rather talk about other stuff as well
....i think i stated that a few post back!
