Bride sent me this picture. Among other things there's polygonum in it (cream filler-type flower). Anyone know what I could use for this? I'm assuming it's not a cultivated cutt, along with the clematis vine.

Jenny,

Polygonum is a member of the buckwheat family... commonly known as knotweed. Not cultivated that I know of, as it is in most cases a very invasive weed. I not sure when you need the product for , but white veronica may work, calcynia in white, white ixia may work too... good luck.. a trip to the road side may result in finding some polygonum ..

Some of the specialty growers may carry some of the less invasive varieties of buckwheat. -

Also, your organic farmers use this crop and love this crop as soil builders and natural fertilizers - It grows rapidly, It large leaves block out sun, thereby killing most weeds.....and while green and before it goes to seed, farmers will till it under and immediately resow a new field and repeat........typically, you can get two/or three sowings of buckwheat in a growing season.....depending on how long your growing season is.

So, buckwheat is probably not that hard to find or get a hold of.........especially if you have any organic farms in your area.

White caspia may work or cream astilbe....I saw pictures of this growing with wisteria, I'll assume the spring is a time to get it and more difficult come late summer or fall...it is also called silver lace vine...I believe it was at my wholesaler just last week...jasmine vine might work well also...that makes an apperance now and not agin so these may very well be only available in the now...

Yeah, not sure what I'll do about the clematis vine--don't have any growing in my yard. I did see some at the University arboretum the other day....:fdevil:

The only vining thing I have is black-eyed-susan vine...

I just got some of this on Monday. It is bright pink and was told that the other name for it is: "Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate"

That is too dang funny... I have a Bride that e-mailed us the same pic.

Ya know, since I see it blown up, I think the whole thing is faux, seriously, I think it fake!

I see lissi, ranni, anenomies, roses...

I've learned, do not promise stuff like that. My brides wedding is in Sept.
I will give her alternatives that I know we can do.

And I think white censis would work just fine for that filler.

yep, it's faux, look at the centers of the anemone and the color on the vine at the top.
