Tampa Florist Ties Into ‘Mother’s Day’ Movie Hype For Holiday Marketing

Hooray for Hollywood!

That’s what Christine Vasconcelo, FSMD, thinks when an upcoming flick dovetails nicely with holidays that call for flowers.

The owner of Bloomingdays in Tampa, Florida is running a promotion that includes free movie tickets to “Mother’s Day,” the Gary Marshall film starring Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, and Jason Sudeikis, out April 29.13073208_10209449934143794_2137095861_o

“Anyone who purchases something for Mother’s Day will be entered for our grand prize,” she said. The prize includes four movie tickets (good for any showing Monday through Thursday at any Regal Theater in the Tampa area), a nail file, and a special bouquet.

Vasconcelo is also giving away 10 tickets to a special pre-screening of the film on April 26. To enter, customers need to post a photo of their mother and a quick blurb about why she’s special, to the shop’s Facebook page.

Vasconcelo is optimistic the film will motivate people to place their floral orders early, as was the case when Marshall released “Valentine’s Day” in 2010.

“Everyone’s always going, going, going,” she continued. “We all need to remember that life is about more than work. Mothers aren’t around forever and we need to spend time with those we love while we can.”
