Gerbs For Hope

Feed Two Kids With One Box of Gerberas

GerbsOfHope_children2Are gerberas among your staple flowers? If so, you have an opportunity to make a big difference in lives of Guatemalan children.

Let us introduce you to Gerbs of Hope, a foundation started by the Fratti family, owners of Verdifratti Farms in Guatemala. To raise funds to provide children with nutrition and medical care, the Frattis created a line of premium, short-stemmed gerberas. Proceeds from each box sold allow them to support two children.

In other words, if you place a standing order of one box a     week for a year, “you could help 104 children a year, which is a wonderful, beautiful thing,” said Ryan Black, marketing director for Jet Fresh Flower Distributors, the exclusive sales outlet of Gerbs of Hope gerberas.

Brothers Angelo and Paolo Fratti founded Gerbs of Hope nearly a year ago: Aug. 20, 2014. They wanted to contribute to “Dr.  Gustavo Castaneda Palacious,” a pediatric hospital their father, Don Gustavo Fratti, founded in 1997. Today, the hospital treats more than 14,000 underprivileged children a year.

Stirred by the untimely death of an employee’s child, Don Gustavo Fratti set out to help not only his workers’ families, but all the local Guatemalan children.

“We wanted to make our best efforts to keep that dream alive,” Angelo Fratti said.

Every box of Gerbs of Hope is packed with 120 premium-quality, fresh cut, gerberas in a standard quarter box (41x10x5). Each gerbera is individually protected with a straw on the stem, and a perforated mesh cup around the head. Gerbs of Hope are approximately 30-40 cm stem length. Color assortment may vary, however, each box contains 4-6 farm-assorted colors, including pinks, yellows, oranges, and reds.

Anyone who supports Gerbs of Hope gets a sticker and a personalized thank you note to display in their store, help raise awareness and drive sales.
