Hello all! I purchased my flower shop one year ago in July from the mother of one my husband's friends. I was a social worker for 13 years and looking to do something new when this opportunity came along. My husband and I have been business owners (a computer store) for years and I had worked seasonally in floral design so I thought, what the heck...
Well, we have survived a year and are growing every day. The shop I bought is one of 6 in my Texas town of 100,000. It's also one of the oldest. We've tweaked some things here and there and are excited about the future!
I enjoy learning all I can about the business and getting/sharing ideas. I'm looking forward to being a "full member" of the Flowerchat community!
Thanks,
Becky

No kidding Mark! :) Welcome indeed. Your floral skills and your social work skills will be well used here and in your business.

How did you come across Flowerchat? (the best place on and off the planet for info and comradarie)

Social worker to florist

Well, I found Flowerchat by searching online for a place to share ideas and voila! As for my former life... I have often times felt like a counselor when working with brides, grieving families, even husbands desperate to make amends!
Thanks for the welcome.

We all use that "counselor" title whether we have an official one or not day in and day out with our customers, our employees and our partners...oh let's not forget our families. Welcome to the crazy world of Flower Chat.
