hello all ,
it appears that i have been amiss in following the rules re; new member introductions .
so here goes ..first of all , please check our web site www.daisychainflorists.com
we have been a real flower shop since 1976 and would you believe it , i'm still here..designing /cleaning blooms/learning /solving problems and loving each day!
for many years i taught floral design at the local college .

we try real hard to be "green"by recycling & composting etc .

you may want to ask carol bice for more info .

Miria, is that really you? I haven't seen you in years.
I can heartily recommend Mimi as she is one of the favorite people I have met in the industry. Such a fun, fun lady and a great florist.
I think you will get some interesting comments and thoughts from her. It will be great to have her among us.

Ryan,

I don't understand why we are not seeing the info on the new members. The other day, someone mentioned the policy of intros or lack thereof. Yet they were still accepted as a registered member. You responded saying that this person went thru membership approval protocall and was indeed approved with needed votes. She was confused because she did infact provide the info (so were we). Yet we did not see any of it to vote on. What gives...? Doesn't it just come up at their first post?

Twila,

All new members must post an intro, and that intro is visible to all members.

The only way to gain access is by receiving votes from the membership. Sometimes, as in this thread, the newbie doesn't post a new intro - they reply to someone else's thread. This makes their post harder to find.

The admins try to clean this up by finding and moving the thread to the correct location, but it's possible that some sneak through.

In any event, votes are always required. Some people won't vote until they have asked a few questions, others are willing to vote based on the intro message alone.
