Remember this is only 150 sq feet and please forgive my armature pics. :) We launched yesterday and spent $0 on advertising and are hoping to snag some of those 100-200 people who come to that salon a day. Tday centerpieces are advertised on a full sheet on the counter. Any advice will be taken with the highest appreciation. The paint job was ours, don’t look too closely :) And we sewed the curtains and decorated ourselves. We did all of this, plus starting floral inventory for $1500. All the architectural detail pieces were found at junk yards or yard sales. The chocolate counter was bought for $20 and we added appliqués and painted it black. We love HGTV :)

A blurry pic of our posies.

Our counter with cards and self order forms. There is also a 100 pound cast iron mail box where they slip their money/info in.

I am the glowing ball and my wife and daughter can be seen too if you look closely. :)

Our fine chocolate bar and truffle counter.

Our vessle and back door, which is always locked. Customer must come through through the Salon front door open tue-Sat 8 to 8.

A lil fuzzy cause I had to make it smaller, but this is my simple, quick Tday page on the counter. I was in a hurry and know the two centerpieces are the same in shape and product. Oh well. :)

Brandon,
That is so great! I am very excited for you and your new venture. Everthing looks wonderful! Please let us know at the end of this week how things are going.
Lots of Luck,
Heather

Nice.......I am intrigued I must say...wish we had a "High End" Salon here, ya think Fantastic Sams might be good <kidding>...

Couple things... get some Lucite stand ups for the cards laying on the Orchid table....and not to be picky, but the wording on the sign... I think you should reverse the word Thanksgiving and the date, and make it **Thanksgiving, Nov 24th** but I'm anal like that

Looks good Daz...my best to your family, that took some work!

great job, love the mix, a little bit of everything goes a long way.
please do let us know how the first week goes :musicband

Thanks Heather, Mark and Nonbitter. :)

Good call on both Mark. Stands are going today, I just forgot them yesterday and I agree with you on the wording. Thanks!

There is also a phone there that a customer can use to call us if they have any questions, pay over the phone or place a more secure transaction.

As for high end... the price points are $20-$40 for the posies and $50 for the arrangements. There is also the ability to buy $1 orchid stems or $3 long stem callas. So, its really not so high end... to be cliched.. only the look is expensive.

Brandon, it's lovely. Well done on the idea and the fulfillment. :)

Very effective use of space...love all of it. May I suggest that if the cards in the bouquets are descriptions, try the cards that you can re-write on that come from SAF...adds a little more professional look...as I am pointing fingers, I am looking at the mish mash in my shop and figure I should stop at this one suggestion and go get my own store tiddied up! Good job....hgtv is cool isn't it.

Wooooowhoooo!!! Thanks guys! There are lots of little things I still need to do, which is stressing me out a little, like the cards you mentioned Sher, we have something like that, but I like your idea better. :)

Thanks guys for the support! We made $70 yesterday lol . One thing I did notice is that a lot of our cards are being taken, whoooohooooo Brand recognition!! And the cool thing is, being in their and having the owner of the salon having us be there builds instant creditability. Woooohooooo!!! I'll let you know how we are doing mid Nov.

Thanks again for the support and wisdom! I love this forum.

PS. WooooooooHOooooOOOO!!!!

Brandon, WTG very nice!...the only thing I would REALLY like to see is a big WELL DESIGNED sign with your shop logo on it to help with the branding effort. The space looks so nice that your logo would really help cement the connection between the high-end look and your brand. It probably would not be cheap but signage is a big part of the retail experience and should never be discounted.

Thanks you two. Mark, I have a sign outside and one inside near the "inbetween part" of the salon and florist. I'll post pics of those two later this week maybe if I have time.

I have a goal to have "Enchanted Floirst" written somewhere 50 times in and outside the shop without it looking desporate or tacky. From signs, to forms, to price cards, etc.... I'm only half way there and I might not reach 50.

Again, thanks Rob and Mark.

Wow! Way to go! Love the look(s)!

It's been 1 month since we opened and after rent and all COGs we made $263 profit. We've found that our European posies sold a lot more that the arragements we made up. And 12% of our sales were chocolate! Total gross was $1226. Is that a good %? Is 21.5% a good profit?

We sold a few wreaths, 5 centerpieces at Tday (I'm not impressed) and one plant. Posies and chocolates are what we are going to keep pushing.

The best part, no employees at our second place and $0 spent on advertising! :)
