To Kill a Mockingbird (book was better)
Gone with the Wind (book was better)
The Notebook
Steel Magnolias
Stepmom (just because I just saw it on TV and cried a lot)

I watch bits and pieces of Hope Floats when it's on TV because one of my daughters looked exactly like Beatrice at that age. In fact, Beatrice was the best part of that move.

BTW, my uncle did the brick work for the Old Folks Home, or whatever it was called, in The Notebook. He repaired the bricks in front and built walls and arches for the garden areas. Alas, the latter were not shown in the movie. That home is a plantation home in Georgetown, SC. There is a tour of Georgetown plantations every spring. It's wonderful!

My! How I do digress!

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World
I almost wrote that movie! I remember staying up & watching it on TV w/my parents when I was a wee little tyke. Still love it. Love the remake Rat Race too.

I just thought of another one for me... Fly Away Home. Love that movie.

The Great Escape! How could I omit that one?

Breakfast at Tiffiny'
the new Pahntom of the Opera..
On Golden Pond with Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn ("someone's at the door......It's ME you old poop!")
The Bourne series,
A Beautiful Mind,
Ocean's 11, 12 and 13,
Harrison Ford movies,
Rudy,
Grumpy and grumpier Old Men
Moonstruck
A Christmas Story
Disney's The Jungle Book
Dennis the Menace
and Monte Python's Holy Grail

Good idea Master J, here are some that I thought were pretty lame:

"Cool as Ice" - Starring Vanilla Ice, this movie was really bad

"From Justin to Kelly" - Never seen it, but the previews were so bad I can't imagine how bad the actual movie is.

"Prayer for the Rollerboys" - Starring Corey Haim, this movie was soooo bad that I watched the whole darn thing.

"Over the Top" - Stallone arm wrestling movie

How about a list of movies that you're ashamed to like?

"Norbit"-bad, bad movie, but I loved it!

"Bloodsport" - starring Jean Claude Van Damme

A Vanailla Ice movie! I've gotta see that!

Movies I am ashamed to like: Any Pauly Shore movie! He came on the scene about the time I was finishing High School so we picked up the lingo a bit (lame, I know) - even now I'll throw out an occasional Pauly-ism.

No shame in liking Bloodsport, I love Van Damms early work - Bloodsport, Cyborg, Kickboxer. Quality entertainment ;)
