Just received some spammail !!!!(never had any before)not from here anyways,
says,Jim Stowe Flower chat Bulletin April 4 2008,can't find any listing of this member on here and haven't had a bulletin before,whats it all about and why????....is it for real,or just plain old spamaroo and if so how does Mr Stowe know i use flowerchat??
 
And my username is the message?

How is a spammer going to know your username, email address and what happened on FlowerChat this past week?

SPAM emails are selling things - was there a link to a viagra site that I missed?

If this was SPAM we should all the thanking the spammer for taking a few hours out of his day to assemble a recap of the past week.

I got it, appreciated it, and thought that if ALL users get this, it might encourage some of the more 'casual' users to check in more often. Kind of like "oooh, that's interesting, maybe I'll click on this thread and see what they have to say... and while I'm there I'll add my 2 cents too!"

I think it will be a great addition.

Same here, and I thought the same thing. It's a good thing, and shows again how much work and forethought goes into this site. Great things usually don't happen by accident, and it's not an accident that so many of us are drawn to, addicted to and rely on this site.
 
Did I say thanks? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's from the heart. This site has helped me many times find answers I needed with out having to ask, a ray of sun shine on dark days, and even tears of joy and sadness as we share bits of our REAL LIFE with each other. Pass it on I'm addicted too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just curious if for everyone else the quote text says the user name "Mocha Rose" here. Was I the random person that logged on when you were quoting or does your quote actually change for each user that reads this post. Call it a "duh" moment.

Just so that you do not think that I am seeing things, I see this as Ryan's quote:

IS Mocha Rose in the sentence above for you as well?

Sorry Ryan but as it got delivered into my spam guard area,and as i could find no Jim Stowe listed it got me all Miss Marple,if only you had announced him or said we were getting a Flower chat bulletin.

As it was delivered into my spamailbox,when i opened it there was nothing to view,boxes for images,headings for text(but no text)and links that just took me back to flower chat..not a bulletin not for me anyways...thats why i was suspicious.

Mine came in this way as well, just links and anchor text but no other info, a few graphics. I replied to it and in the reply process being able to edit what was in the original email I found the text was in white, once I changed the color I could read it.

Jim emailed back and said it would be fixed by the next bulletin.

Jim was announced a while ago, as he mentioned in the bulletin.

As Erlene mentioned, a few users reported display problems with the email template. We tested it on multiple platforms, but as each email client display content differently it can be an issue. We'll work to have the issues sorted out or switch to a new template by the next issue.

We don't control what goes into your SPAM box. False-positives are a fact of life with SPAM filters, so we do pre-screen our emails against some filters before sending. Unfortunately, it's not possible to test against every combination.
