Hello everyone. My name is Dorothy. I joined FlowerChat in 2005 but was just too busy running my flower shop to participate much until now. However, I have recently sold the business and would like to learn more about the resources, trends, etc., in the online flower community so that I can better assist the new owner who is now my boss! Thanks to all who share their knowledge and experience!

Hi Cheryl and everyone. Thank you for your welcomes :)
I keep getting this post when I login:
"Dorothy,
There is one more step for you before gaining full access to the site.
We ask that each new member post an introduction message to tell us a little about yourself. Until you post your introduction you will have limited access to the site."
Does anyone know what that means? Seems that I can post, read and reply so I'm not sure what I'm not able to participate in...
No, Carrieann, staying on as an employee is not hard to swallow at all. The new owner worked for me for a few years, we get along just fine and I have another business to pay attention to. My hubby and I have a music and arts school as well. It has a little gifty shop, called the Karma Shop, which we're trying to build into an all original artists' mini-gallery of sorts.
Cathy: I know, I should have cute little puppy called Toto. Funny thing is I'm a Cat Person. LOL Would like to meet this Toto person tho....
Also, after I thought about things, I believe I joined FC because of FloristWare. Has anyone else been using that POS? It's come a long way since '05 but seems like it needs a tad bit more work (my bookkeeper doesn't like it too much). Is there a forum on here just for FloristWare? Anyone know Mark? What a great guy.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you all, keeping in touch with all the flower people and helping my friend Arlene continue on with the vision(s) I had for Summerland Flowers & Gifts ;)

Dorothy, welcome - the prompt means to go to the "New Member Introductions" and fill out the questions there. They are basic and you're already a member so won't do any harm.
I have been using FloristWare for a couple of months and I love it! Mark and his crew have been wonderful.
The forum link for FloristWare goes directly to the FW site from here.

Dorothy, you're a registered user now. Welcome back to the fray.

**IMPORTANT MESSAGE**

I must post a retraction to the comments I posted about FloristWare. I did not in any way mean to suggest that the program is not a viable option to other very expensive POS systems.

In fact, I believe FloristWare is the BEST, MOST AFFORDABLE POS for florists everywhere. I 100% encourage florists to give it a try and see for yourself. I believe I was one of 20 original users (beta testers) of the program since 2005 and I've seen several very positive improvements to the program since then. And I believe more tweaking is yet to come, like any new software no matter what its purpose is (ie. Microsoft's VISTA). I have referred quite a few florists to FloristWare and I will most certainly continue to do so.

I did not mean in any way to harm FloristWare's reputation and I sincerely apologize if my comments were taken that way. I sought only to start a discussion with the intention of sharing information, which would allow the R&D staff of FloristWare to hear concerns and suggestions from florists as a collective unit.

Mark Anderson's dedication and commitment to creating a POS with the actual florist's needs in mind is absolutely commendable and so needed in this industry!

I truly, truly believe in FloristWare, its owners and staff and wish them nothing but future success, something that will obviously benefit the end user, the florist.
