inferno, what do you think of the red, do you think they may be double xanths? I am not too hot on dahlias btw at all, thinking that because you can see the centre more. We WILL get to the bottom of this rofl.

I am calling the red flowers dahlias also. I am lost on the red hanging thingys. But if I can identify my children in a crowd at a football game from 1/2 mile out after a few beers, then I will eventually identify these flowers also. :alcoholic

I don't think the hanging stuff is pepperberry, it's too bumply. Pepperberries are smooth.
When everyone was saying kermit mum I was thinking maybe there was a large hybrid kermit, but if you are saying those are standard kermits I am gonna have to say no.
I am leaning toward the green things being dahlias, for real.
But if someone can definitively come up w/the answer I will be so happy!

Here is a pic of kermits that i use, sometimes they do come in more rounded. i tried to google green dahlia but could not find any. If we could get a pic then we could do a comparison. I think i need to now before i need to be in a strait jacket lolbtw i did not do the second pic, this is a kermit with a double xanth next to it but a different colour.

Yes, I agree Patty 100% it's red damifino. For sure that is what it is. I'm certian it's not hanging amaranthus.
And I will put my life on it that those are not kermits!!!

According to this site www.dahliahill.org which is right across the street from my dads house, there is no green Dahlia...
I know they look like Kermits and could be...the Canadians grow some that are the size of golf balls...in white anyway...have not seen the green...

Do we know how big the container is. You see if it's a very small container then the flower could well be a multiheaded variety just chopped down and used individually yet it looks big because it's both shot closeup and there is no point of reference. I did a zoom in and have to say the red ones look very chrysanthemummyto me in which case they could be Kermit type heads as well.

They look like dahlias to me. Just my opinion.
Look at the pictures I've attached.
The Kermits don't match at all.
The Gerrondo Gerbs don't match, wrong head shape.
The 3 pictures of ball dahlias look very similar. Look at the petal shape.
Too bad we can't see the foliage. That is really the only way to truly know.
Did anyone notice that this is the same container that we discussed for refrigerator buckets last week?

.My holland guy said they are gerrondos, but looking at that photo, I don't think so, unless they come more round in person .....I also don't think they're kermits, because of the petal shape and size in comparison to the dahlias.

I think they are permanent botanicals....might explain the size difference. That cypress looks much too "plastic" to be real.

I think you might be correct with the chrironne pluis variety of dendranthema.
I wish I could see a picture of chrironne pluis from the side. The flowers in the original picture look round, and most mums have a flat head shape. But face-on, it looks closer than anything else we've come across.
Like several other posters, I keep wondering if these are fauxfleurs.
The hanging ones have foliage similar to pepperberry.

well here's my three cents worth:
Dahlia's ...they do come in smaller sizes as I have some in the shop that are the same shape and only about 2 1/2" across

and the hangy down thingy's sure looks like broom corn to me,whisch I also have i the shop now.
